Designing with Borders....
We are a digital printing company, and with digital printing sheet to sheet, side to side you can experience what's called "image shift" of up to 1mm in tolerance. This "creep" can be exacerbated by borders. Borders actually allow the brain to notice tiny variations in out of balance prints.

Thanks to this "border line" acting as a reference so close to the edge, the brain can easily measure this short distance by eye and, effectively making the print seem more out of balance than what it actually is.

For the best print result, it is best to avoid borders altogether. However, due to the nature of some of the products we offer, we're aware of how inherent borders are to the aesthetic of products like trading cards and other.

To minimise the "image shift" focus and not make it so easy for the eye, we have found that borders which are at least 4mm away from the trim, drastically reduces the brain's ability to notice shift.

How do I find a Deck Box Template?

We offer boxes which are custom-made to fit your sticker deck. The dimensions of the box is influenced by your card size (length & width) but also the stack height - which is subject to your choice of card stock (gsm thickness), and if you add celloglaze or not.

Because of this, we actually ask that you place the order first. That way, we can be 100% certain as to how much room we need in the box, and we haven't sent you the wrong template ahead of time (causing issues).

We will send you a custom-fit template after your order is placed (within 48hrs).

Design Guide

Bleed, Safe Zone, Trim - Card Printing

Bleed size

This area will be cut off when your product is cut to size. Your design should extend all the way to the bleed size to ensure no unwanted white edges when the print is cut to size.

Trim size

This is the final size your print will be trimmed to when the excess bleed is removed and is the size you select when creating your product.

Safe margin size

This is to ensure you don't end up with text or important image content right on the edge of your print. Aim to keep important images and text inside the dotted safe area box.
