What is gsm in printing?

When you see the term "gsm" next to a number when explaining a paper stock, that can pretty much mean nothing to someone who isn't familiar with paper. The GSM of a paper stock, is a grading which defines its "grade" or "thickness". The true meaning of this acronym is the "grams per square metre" of a paper stock. eg, if you were to take a larger sheet of a 300gsm paper stock and cut it to an exact square metre, it would weigh 300 grams.

Choosing the right paper stock is important to ensure you get the thickness you want out of each product. ePrint offer a large range of paper stocks on pretty much all of our products, and the price is calculated depending on each sheet of that stock (for small format products) or a price per roll (large format products)
